- To specify verification settings for all future projects, go to .
- To specify verification settings during batch tasks, go to the Projects view or the Files view, select Batch Tasks, choose a batch process and go to the Settings page.
- To specify verification settings in a project template, create a project template by going to the Projects view selecting Create Project Template from the Ribbon, then specify verification settings in the Project Template Settings dialog. You can also edit an existing project template.
- Select from the navigation tree.
- Select Segments Verification from navigation.
- Under Forgotten and empty translation decide how you want SDL Trados Studio to flag forgotten or empty text. Choose an option from the drop-down list: Error, Warning or Note.
- Under Compare source and target segments, decide whether and how you want SDL Trados Studio to flag:
- Identical source and target text
- Select the Source and target are identical checkbox.
- Choose an option from the drop-down list: Error, Warning or Note.
- Select Ignore tags, so that segments are regarded as identical, even when the inline tags differ. For example, "This is a
<b>test</b>" will be considered the same as "This is a test". - Select Ignore case, so that segments are regarded as identical, even when the capitalizations differ. For example, " Run a Concordance search" will be considered the same as "Run a concordance search".
- Target text of a given length
- Select Shorter by, so that segments shorter than the expected length are flagged. Specify a percentage and choose an option from the drop-down list: Error, Warning or Note.
- Select Longer by, so that segments larger than the expected length are flagged. Specify a percentage and choose an option from the drop-down list: Error, Warning or Note.
- Restrict the two preceding checks (Shorter by and Longer by), so that they apply to segments of a minimum length. Enter a number here and any segments containing fewer words than this number are excluded from the checks. Decide whether you want the specified number to apply on a word-basis or a character-basis. For example, you may want to ignore segments that contain only one word.
- Identical source and target text
- Under Check target segments decide whether and how you want SDL Trados Studio to flag forbidden characters in the target text:
- Select the Check for forbidden characters checkbox.
- Type the characters which should not occur in the translation. Do not insert spaces between the characters. For example, German spelling reforms may specify that certain characters should no longer be used.
- Choose an option from the drop-down list: Error, Warning or Note.
