Specifying Termbase Search window settings

You can control the way termbase search results are displayed in the Term Recognition window and Termbase Search window in the Editor, by editing the Hitlist settings.

About this task

When you close and then restart SDL Trados Studio, SDL MultiTerm continues to use the Hitlist settings you had before you closed the application. Refer to step 4 below for information about saving your settings for reuse.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  2. Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
  3. In the Editor view, in the Term Recognition window, select Hitlist settings.
  4. In the Hitlist Settings dialog, if you have a Hitlist settings file (*.mthits), select Load... to automatically change the display settings to the ones specified in the file.
  5. To manually change the display settings:
    • Under Languages and Termbase, specify how much information is displayed for each result.
    • Under Terms, specify whether target terms and the formatting are applied to the results.
    • Under Fields, specify whether the results are displayed in an expanded or compacted form.
  6. To use the same settings next time you open a file for translation, select Save to save your settings to a Hitlist settings file that you can upload next time.
  7. Select OK to close the dialog and save your changes. The termbase results will now display with the new settings.
