Upgrading your License

If you have an older version of an SDL product and have bought an upgrade license for a newer version, follow these steps to obtain a new license code and activate the product:

Procedure

  1. Deactivate the license of the older version of your SDL product.
  2. Sign in your SDL Account.
  3. Go to Products & Plans > Licenses.
  4. Click the Upgrades Available banner.
  5. Search for the license you want to upgrade in the list.
  6. Click on Upgrade. You are advised that the license is lost and a new one is issued.
  7. Select Process Upgrade.

  9. Activate the new license.

Product Specific Notes

About this task

When upgrading from SDL Trados Studio 2015 or 2014 to Trados Studio 2017, your original license will be automatically removed from your account. To continue using the older version alongside Trados Studio 2017, you should consider purchasing a full license instead of an upgrade.

Refer to the SDL Trados Studio license upgrade process KB article for details on older versions of Trados Studio license upgrade paths.
