Using SDL Language Cloud

Connect to SDL Language Cloud to access baseline or AdaptiveMT engines that you subscribed to from your SDL Language Cloud account. The SDL Language Cloud MT engines are trained using domain-specific content and can generate translation results that require less post-editing. To start translating using the SDL Language Cloud resources that you connected to, open your project files in the Editor view and click inside a target segment. SDL Trados Studio automatically inserts the translation generated from the SDL Language Cloud engine corresponding to the language pairs of your file.

Procedure

  1. If you are not already logged into your SDL Language Cloud account from SDL Trados Studio , do one of the following:
    • Enter your SDL Language Cloud credentials if you hold a valid SDL Trados Studio license. Go to any SDL Trados Studio view, and, in the upper-right corner of the screen, select Sign In. In the Sign In dialog, enter your credentials (email address and password), or select Sign in with API key and provide the key you received from the project manager or another source.
    • Create an SDL Language Cloud account and log in with these credentials if you are using an SDL Trados Studio trial.
  2. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  3. On the Home tab, go to Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation.
  4. On the Translation Memory and Automated Translation page, select Use, and then, from the drop-down menu, select SDL Language Cloud Machine Translation.
  5. On the SDL Machine Translation & AdaptiveMT Settings page, select the translation engines that you want to use for each language pair available for your project.
    • If your SDL Language Cloud subscription includes specialized engines for the available language pairs, select Baseline and switch from the general engine to one of the industry-specific engines in the list.
    • If you want to use an Adaptive MT translation engine, you can create one or choose an existing one from the list.
  6. To add new engines and use these with your current project, select Manage Adaptive Engines.
  7. Select OK.
