Working with Language Cloud Terminology in Trados Studio

If you have terminology assets configured in your SDL Language Cloud, add them to your project to be able to use them in translation.

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
    • For existing projects, go to the Projects view, select Project Settings, and then on the Project Settings page, go to Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases
    • For all future projects, go to File > Options > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases
  2. Open Options or Project Settings and select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases from the navigation tree. Any termbases that are currently in use are listed here.
  3. Select Use > SDL Language Cloud Terminology.
  4. Select the termbases you want to use in your project from the Available termbases list.
  5. Choose the type of term search and define the term search settings:
    • Linguistic fuzzy search - search the termbase for correspondences that do not exactly match the terms in the source.
    • Character-based fuzzy search - search the termbase for exact matches of the terms in the source.
See the related SDL Language Cloud Terminology settings page for information on how these settings affect matching terms.
  6. Continue selecting termbases until the list is complete. Any termbases you have added appear in the Termbases box and the Enabled option is selected for the termbase. When this option is selected, the termbase is automatically searched during translation when a segment becomes the active segment.
  7. Make sure the appropriate language for each termbase is set in the Languages pane for each project language. Each language must be mapped to a language in the termbase.
  8. Select OK to save your changes and close the dialog.
