Controlling what content is sent for translation

You can control what content is sent for translation by configuring Schemas, Publications, and Translation Jobs.

In Schemas
In Schemas you can control which Component fields and Metadata fields are sent for translation by selecting the Translatable check box. You can specify Translatable for texts fields and external link fields for translation. When an item that uses this Schema is sent to translation, fields that are marked as Translatable are sent for translation.
In Simple Schemas that define the fields you can define in Components, you can also control whether to translate the Component name.
In Simple Schemas and Metadata Schemas you can also control how the content is sent by choosing whether to Aggregate Translation Items.
In Publications
A Publication has Translate item options in that allow you to select whether you want to send Folder, Structure Group, Page, Category and Keyword fields for translation:
Translation Jobs
In a Translation Job you can control whether to include already translated items. By default, Translation Manager does not send items included in a Translation Job to translation if the item has not changed since it was last sent. You can override this behavior by selecting the Include already translated items check box, for example if you were not satisfied with the translation.
Also, in the Added Items tab you can control whether to include items nested in the various items you selected. For example, Folders and Pages contain Components and Keywords contain nested Keywords.
