Configuring the single content master BluePrint for translation

This section describes the configuration of the single content master BluePrint ready for sending translations to a translation system.

The following diagram shows the Source and Target Publications you need to configure in the Content Manager to enable users to initiate translations in the single content master BluePrint:

Configuring the BluePrint

Configure the following Source and Target Publications in the single content master BluePrint:

  • Source Publications:
    • English Content Publication (the Content Master) is configured for the translations; EN->DE (English to German), EN->NL (English to Dutch), and EN->FR (English to French)
    • Belgian (Dutch) Web site Publication is configured for translations NL->FR (Dutch to French)
  • Target Publications:
    • German Translation Content Publication is configured to receive German translations (from English)
    • Dutch Translation Content Publication is configured to receive Dutch translations (from English)
    • French Translation Content Publication is configured to receive French translations (from English)
    • Belgian (French) Web site Publication is configured to receive French translations (from Dutch)
Configuring the translation system
The setup of your translation system depends on the system you are using:
  • On SDL TMS, you need the following configurations:
    • a configuration containing the Language Pairs EN->DE, EN->NL, and EN->FR for the English Content Publication
    • a configuration containing the Language Pair NL->FR for the Belgian (Dutch) Web site Publication
  • On SDL WorldServer:
    • a Client with target locales DE, NL, and FR (defined in the Clients Users)
    • a Project Type with source locale EN
    • a Project Type with source locale NL
  • On SDL BeGlobal, no specific configuration is required as common languages pairs are available to all customers when you enter your API Key.
