Upgrading the Content Delivery Server Roles
Upgrade your Server Roles by removing obsolete JAR files, updating JAR files, adding resources and by downloading and (re)installing third-party libraries.
- Upgrading a Content Delivery Server Role to a new environment
Depending on your specific upgrade path, you may need to (or want to) upgrade not only your Content Delivery software, but also your Web application server (release and/or vendor), your operating system (release and/or vendor) or even your hardware. If so, this task explains what to do before performing the other upgrade steps. - Removing dropped JAR files from Server Roles
As part of the upgrade to SDL Tridion 2013 SP1, remove a number of JAR files which SDL Tridion no longer requires. - Updating existing JAR files
Update existing JAR files in your Web application or file system directory used by Windows services or Java processes to bring your JAR files up-to-date. - Adding new JARs to Server Roles
Add a number of new JAR files to your Content Delivery Web applications or file system directories for Windows services or Java processes. - Updating database client software
As part of your upgrade, replace your JDBC driver with a new one. You must download the new driver rather than copy them from the installation media, for legal reasons. - New Server Roles
Between SDL Tridion 2009 SP1 and SDL Tridion 2013 SP1, a number of new Server Roles were added to SDL Tridion, which you may want to install. Refer to the installation documentation to learn how to install these new Server Roles.
