Implementing tracking using default Template Building Blocks
You need to enable the tracking of content on the presentation server by adding the Page Tracking and Component Tracking Template Building Blocks provided with Online Marketing Explorer to your Page Templates and Component Templates.

About this task
Online Marketing Explorer provides Template Building Blocks to enable tracking of content on the presentation side:
- Tracking Static Web sites

To track embedded (static) Component Presentations on a Page, add the Page Tracking Template Building Block to your Compound Page Templates—the template adds
RegisterComponentVisitTCDL tags to each embedded Component Presentation on your Page. - Tracking Dynamic Web sites

To track Component Presentations, add the Component Tracking Template Building Block to your Compound Component Templates— the template adds
RegisterComponentVisitTCDL to each Component.
Procedure
- If you added Component Presentations statically to your Pages:
- In Template Builder, open your Compound Page Template.
- Add the Page Tracking Template Building Block after the Template Building Block that generates the Output item in the package, for example after your Dreamweaver Template Building Block.
- If you are using Dynamic Component Presentations, to enable tracking in these Components:
- In Template Builder, open your Compound Component Template.
- Add the Component Tracking Template Building Block after the Template Building Block that generates the Output item in the package, for example after your Dreamweaver Template Building Block.
