Known issues
This section describes the known issues in the 2011 SP1 release of Online Marketing Explorer.
- Aggregation Data Service doesn't work with SAML authentication
- Problem: The Aggregation Data Service does not support SAML authentication.
- Exporting PDF Reports in Japanese
- Problem: Japanese characters are displayed incorrectly in a report exported as a PDF.
- Online Marketing Dashboard error handling
- Problem: When an error occurs on the Content Manager Server, an unhelpful
Internal Server Errormessage appears on the Online Marketing Dashboard. -
Password of
tcmAdministratorUserdoes not accept some non-latin passwords - Problem: The password for the
tcmAdministratorUserin theTridion.Aggregation.configfile does not accept non-latin passwords which contain 16-bit encoded characters such as may occur in Japanese and Arabic. - Sunday is used as the first day of the week
- Problem: In the Online Marketing Explorer dashboard you cannot configure the first day of the week which is set as standard as a Sunday; in many countries, the first day of the week is a Monday.
- Online Marketing Explorer Schemas imported using Content Porter are not recognized
- Problem: You cannot import Online Marketing Explorer Schemas using Content Porter.

Identical records possible in
TRACKING_ITEMSdatabase table - Problem: In a scale-out scenario, where you have more than one Synchronization Servers pointing to one Tracking database, a situation can arise where you have the same records in the
TRACKING_ITEMSdatabase table. This occurs if the Aggregation Framework pushes a list of items through a first Sync Server and a second Sync Server more-or-less simultaneously. - Installer log file contains error message after valid installation
- Problem: The installer log file contains error message after a valid installation.
Calling custom action CampaigningCustomActions!CampaigningCustomActions.InitializePropertiesCustomActions.InitializeProperties Begin InitializeProperties InitializeProperties.ReadServicesWebConfig: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Tridion\OnlineMarketing\web\Services\web.config'. - Cannot run password encryption tool
- Problem: If the administration user who installs Online Marketing Explorer is a different user to the one installed SDL Tridion, you cannot encrypt/decrypt passwords using the password encryption command line tool.
- Application Pool set incorrectly
- Problem: If the administration user who installs Online Marketing Explorer is a different user to the one installed SDL Tridion, the Online Marketing Explorer Application Pool is set incorrectly to DefaultAppPool Application Pool.
- Browsers running in 64-bit mode
- Problem: Online Marketing Explorer is built using Microsoft Silverlight which cannot be used in browsers running in 64-bit mode. For more information, see http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx?reason=64bit&v=4.0.50401.0
- Mousewheel is not supported on MacOS
- Problem: Mousewheel is not supported on MacOS. For more information, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd759034(VS.95).aspx#platform_dependencies
- Only Windows shortcuts are supported
- Problem: Users of MacOS cannot perform some actions which are performed using special MacOS keyboard buttons such as cmd, for example copy-and-paste (
cmd+candcmd+v). - Tracking of linked binary files
- Binary files (Multimedia Components) embedded directly on a Page or included as a Asset in an Initiative are tracked. However, binary files embedded as links (Component Links or Multimedia Component Links) are not tracked.
- Reporting security
- Reporting does not take into account Content Manager security when generating statistics. A user can select to include in a Report data on Initiatives in Child Publications when they do not have access to these Publications.
- Initiative tracking data is not cleaned up on delete if Aggregation Service is turned off
- Problem: Aggregated data is cleaned up when the corresponding Initiative is deleted from the Content Manager. However, if a user deletes an Initiative while the Aggregation Service is turned off, aggregated data remains in the database.
- Changing of winter/summer time not taken into account
- Initiative date and time settings do not take into account the clocks going backwards or forwards (winter/summer time).
- Initiatives icon in Content Manager Explorer
- In some item lists in the Content Manager Explorer an Initiative is displayed as a normal Component and there is no option to open it in Online Marketing Explorer.
- Synchronization error
- Problem: Synchronizing large amounts of data, for example 60,000 records with a common
SESSION_ID, leads to ajava.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap spaceerror occurring (as, for example, would be the case in a DDOS attack on the Web site). - Page preview
- Problem: When you preview a Page that uses the Page Tracking Template Building Block, you see a tracking TCDL tag after the dynamic Component Presentation.
