Connector for Salesforce CRM usage in Content Manager

The Tridion Connector for Salesforce CRM enhances the Tridion Sites Content Manager so that end users can access Salesforce CRM CRM data through the Content Manager.

When the Tridion Connector for Salesforce CRM is implemented with Tridion Sites, the Content Manager includes it as a mount point in a Publication's tree structure at the same level as Tridion Sites native content.

The following screenshot illustrates the Salesforce CRM mount point in the Content Manager:

Through the Content Manager user interface, editors and other end users do the following actions with external data from Salesforce CRM:
  • Select binary assets that are stored in Salesforce CRM, such as documents, images, and so on
  • View and update asset metadata
  • Select data type fields, such as the email or name of a Salesforce CRM Contact

When a user views an asset's properties from Content Manager, the External Metadata tab displays information about the asset, such as illustrated in the following screenshot:

Users can use the binary assets from Tridion Connector for Salesforce CRM in Components and on Pages. When these Components and Pages get published, the Connector retrieves and downloads the assets from Salesforce CRM and includes them in the publish package that gets sent to the target website.
