Running the installer to install Audience Manager on the Content Manager server

You install Audience Manager on the server by running the Content Manager Server installer.

Before you begin

Before running the installer you need to have created the Audience Manager database. The installer will prompt you for details about the database and database user credentials.

About this task

By default, the Content Manager does not install Audience Manager. You do not need to install Audience Manager now if you already explicitly selected this feature when you installed the Content Manager Server, except if you want to outscale components.

Procedure

  1. Access the SDL Tridion Sites installation media.
  2. Navigate to the Content Manager\ directory.
  3. Double-click the executable SDLTridionSites91.exe.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen:
    • You can select individual software components to install by choosing the Advanced option. (By default, the installer installs all core software components; that is, it does not by default install Translation Manager, Experience Optimization or any deprecated features.)
    • You can install software components you choose not to install by running the installer again and selecting the Modify option.
  5. After the installer finishes, if the installer does not prompt you to restart your machine, perform a manual reboot.

Results

The installer has created a log file in the following location: %PROGRAMDATA%\SDL\SDLWeb\Logs\.

The following software components are installed for Audience Manager:
  • GUI Extensions
  • Synchronization Service
  • Audience Manager web service
