Setting up personas for the Preview tab

To make personas appear in the dropdown of the Preview tab of the ribbon toolbar, select to use one or more Address Books as a set of personas.

Procedure

  1. Access Content Manager Explorer and create an Address Book. You can also use an existing Address Book. The Address Book you use must meet the following requirements:
    • The Address Book can contain no more than 30 Contacts.
    • The Address Book contains real or fictional persons that you wish to use as personas, that is, as representatives of a certain target demographic.
  2. Right-click the Publication that corresponds to your staging Web site and select Properties from the context menu that opens.
    This Publication opens in a new window.
  3. If you created a new Address Book, select the Audience Management tab and move the Address Book you just created from Available Address Books to Allowed Address Books.
  4. Ensure that the Address Book you intend to use is synchronized by selecting it and making sure that Synchronize Address Book, below the list of allowed Address Books, is selected.
  5. Select Use as personas.
  6. Save and close the Publication.

Results

In the personas dropdown, a user now sees the names of the Contacts, specifically, the value you configured as <ItemTitle> in the Audience Manager configuration (which contains one or more your Contact Fields).
