Connector for Contentful usage in Content Manager
When you deploy the Tridion Connector for Contentful with Tridion Sites, Content Manager users can access content and assents stored in Contentful and use it in their websites.
When the Connector for Contentful is implemented with Tridion Sites, the Content Manager includes it as a mount point in a Publication's tree structure at the same level as Tridion Sites native content.
- List folders and files
- Select assets to be used on Pages and in Component Links, and so on
- View asset metadata, including asset size and content type
- Select textual content and add to Pages
- View textual content, either as an HTML fragment or a list of normalized fields
The following screen capture illustrates a folder containing Contentful content as it would appear in Content Manager Explorer (the Classic user interface):
In the example, the folder contains two items, a Contentful multimedia asset and a Contentful content item. The following screen capture illustrates the asset opened for viewing with the General tab showing an image preview and the External Metadata tab providing some basic asset information:
The media assets exposed by the Connector for Contentful can be used on Components and on Pages in the same way as ordinary Tridion Sites assets. When you publish Components or Pages, the selected Contentful media assets and associated metadata gets included.
The following screen capture illustrates a Contentful content item opened for viewing:
For this type of content item, the External Metadata tab displays both the full HTML fragment and the normalized content fields. For the HTML fragment, you can use the Source tab to see the full HTML code. For more information on consuming content as the HTML fragment versus normalized fields, refer to the topic in this section on the options for consuming Tridion Sites content.
