Connector for Salesforce Marketing usage in Content Manager
The Connector for Salesforce Marketing enhances the Tridion Sites Content Manager so that end users can access Salesforce Marketing Cloud contact details and marketing automation data through the Content Manager.
When the Connector for Salesforce Marketing is implemented with Tridion Sites, the Content Manager includes it as a mount point in a Publication's tree structure at the same level as Tridion Sites native content.
The following screen capture illustrates the Salesforce Marketing Cloud mount point in the Content Manager:
In Experience Space, the mount point appears like a normal external folder. In both interfaces, folder names represent the name of the SFMC data extension, shared data extension or event definition.
Each folder contains SFMC data extension fields represented as external (ECL) content where the type is Data Extension Field. The following screen capture illustrates one such field in Experience Space:
Build form Components to trigger customer journeys
Through the different Content Manager user interfaces, editors and other end users can build form Components that, when used on webpages, can trigger journeys defined in SFMC. The following screen capture illustrates (in Experience Manager ) a form Component that you might use to trigger a journey:
Note the following aspects of these Component fields:
- They are external multimedia link fields that map to SFMC data extension fields. This mapping enables the data to be saved to the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. When a website visitor uses the form to enter their details, that information is saved into the SFMC system and can be used to trigger an SFMC journey.
- You can add field validations to the fields like for any other Component field.
