Adding a Parent Publication

A Child Publication can have more than one Parent Publication. You can add a Parent Publication to a Child Publication in the BluePrint viewer or in the BluePrinting tab of a Publication.

Before you begin

To create or delete Publications you must have system administration privileges. To modify a Publication or BluePrint, you need Publication Management rights.

Procedure

  1. Open Content Manager Explorer.
  2. In the Publications navigation pane, select the Content Management node.
  3. In the list view, select a Publication.
  4. Open the Ribbon toolbar Organize tab and click BluePrint Hierarchy .
  5. Select a Child Publication.
  6. In the Home tab of the BluePrint Viewer, click Add Parent.
    Publications that can serve as a valid Parent are displayed in the Available Parent Publications dialog.
  7. In the Available Parent Publications dialog, select a Publication and click Insert.

Results

The relationship to the new Parent Publication is added (a line appears between the Child Publication and the Parent Publication in the BluePrint Viewer)
