Content Delivery security

This section describes the subsystems and services of Content Delivery, the default user accounts used to access and run these subsystems, and the minimal rights, privileges and/or permissions required by an account to operate a subsystem.

Content Delivery is the conduit for the flow of content. There is a clear beginning to the cycle of Content Delivery when published content is transported from the Content Manager to the Content Delivery layer. The published content is then deployed to one or more delivery platforms. If the content is delivered to the Content Delivery platform, the content is then stored in some form of storage media (a database system, XML Database, File System) by the Content Broker. The stored content can then be retrieved and used by any number of parties with access to the content.

The following diagram is a high-level overview of the SDL Tridion Sites system: clients of the Content Manager access the Content Manager through IIS and content is distributed from the Content Manager to Content Delivery using the Transport Service:
