Default trigger types

Experience Optimization defines a default set of trigger types in the initial-triggertypes.json file. Each type comes with default values.

Trigger types belong to the following categories:

  • Contacts
  • Session
  • Visitor
Contacts
A Contact contains details of an actual person or organization. Contacts are stored in Address Books.
When using Audience Manager (deprecated) in conjunction with Experience Optimization, you can use Contact details, Keywords and Segments as Triggers for Promotions. Note that the Audience Manager feature is deprecated as of SDL Tridion Sites 9.1
A Contact's details are put into the Ambient Data Framework by the Audience Manager cartridge. Audience Manager uses Synchronization Targets to synchronize Contact data between the Content Manager Server and the Presentation Server.
The following table describes Contact details that are commonly used. These are available by default when you install Audience Manager (deprecated), although the exact Contact details available are configurable and depend on your own implementation of Audience Manager:
