You need to enable the Desktop Experience feature if your WebDAV client machine is a Windows 2008 or Windows Server 2012 operating system.
Before you begin
- On a Windows 2008 R2 system, Desktop Experience requires the Ink Support (
InkSupport) package.
- On a Windows 2012 system, Desktop Experience requires the Ink and Handwriting Services and Media Foundation (
ServerMediaFoundation) package. Windows automatically prompts you to install these dependencies.

- Do one of the following:
- In Windows 2008 R2, in the dialog, in the tree on the left navigate to the node , then in the content area on the right, select Add Features.
- In Windows 2012, select Add Roles and Features and step through the wizard until your reach the Features step.
- In the list of features that appears, you see an item called Desktop Experience (in Windows 2012, expand the item User Interfaces and Infrastructure to see it).
- Ensure that the check box for Desktop Experience is selected.
- If you selected the check box, click Next and continue until you can click Install.
Windows installs the Desktop Experience feature.
- Restart your computer as instructed.
- After your reboot, access your Windows Services and start the service called WebClient.
