- Publication path
-
Use this setting if any of the following apply:
- You are using the deprecated publishing framework from before SDL Web 8—In this case, the path to which the Content Manager publishes content on the destination machine(s). (SDL Web 8 Cumulative Update 1 deprecated an older publishing framework where you configured publishing targets in Content Manager and introduced a preferred framework where you configure publishing targets in Topology Manager. )
- You are using Topology Manager but are publishing to a file system—In this case, the path you fill in here must be identical to the path you specify in your Topology Manager installation scripts or in the Site Wizard.
- Publication URL
-
The web address to which content is published for this Publication. This setting is no longer relevant if you use the publishing framework introduced in SDL Web 8.
- Images path
-
The path to which the Content Manager publishes images on the destination machine(s). This setting is no longer relevant if you use the publishing framework introduced in SDL Web 8.
- Images URL
-
The web address to which images are published for this Publication. This setting is no longer relevant if you use the publishing framework introduced in SDL Web 8.
- Language
-
The language of the content in this Publication (optional). If you select this property, you must also select a value for Region. The values are in English, even if you have set the user interface language to another language than English. You can type the beginning of the value to jump to the list item you want. If this Publication has a parent Publication, you can select Inherit from Parent to use its language and region settings. SDL Tridion Sites uses this setting when indexing content for search, to determine things like text direction (say, left-to-right or right-to-left).
- Region
-
The region or country of the content in this Publication (optional). If you select this property, you must also select a value for Language. The values are in English, even if you have set the user interface language to another language than English. You can type the beginning of the value to jump to the list item you want. If this Publication has a parent Publication, you can select Inherit from Parent to use its language and region settings. SDL Tridion Sites uses this setting when indexing content for search, to determine things like date notation or decimal marks.
- Metadata Schema
-
You can add metadata to a Publication to store additional information about the Publication.
To add metadata to a Publication, you first need to create a Metadata Schema, which defines a series of fields that can be used to capture metadata values. You can then select the Metadata Schema you created as the value for this setting.
