Modifying or removing Publication mappings

If you need to modify or remove existing Content Manager's Publication mappings, you can do so in Content Manager Explorer through the Publication's properties.

Procedure

  1. Access the Content Manager Explorer website.
  2. Locate and select the Publication you previously mapped.
  3. In the Home ribbon tab, select Properties.
    The properties of the Publication open in a new dialog.
  4. Select the Publishing tab in the Publication's properties.
    You see the configured mappings for the Publication
  5. Under Environments, you can do the following:

    Modify an existing mappingSelect the environment whose mapping you want to modify and edit the fields in the content area on the right.
    Map the Publication to an entirely different list of environments
    1. If you have published content to any of the current environments, unpublish all your Publication content from all those environments.
    2. Select a different value for Business Process Type (and, if needed, a specific Topology within that Business Process Type) to see a new list of environments to map to.
    3. Create new mappings for any environments that do not have one yet.
    Map the Publication to another set of instances of the same types of environmentFor example, you want to map to Staging and Live environments in the Cloud rather than on-premises.
    1. Remove all mappings.
    2. Select Change Topology and then the specific Topology to which would like to map.
    3. Create new mappings for all environments.
    Remove an existing mappingSelect the environment whose mapping you want to remove and select Remove Mapping.
  6. Select Save and Close to apply your changes.

Results

If you changed the environments you map to, note the following:
  • Content Manager preserves your existing mapping settings for any environment that exists in both your old and your new setups.
  • Content Manager discards your existing mapping settings for any environment that does not exist in the new setup.
