Purging finished Workflow Process histories
When a Workflow Process instance has executed all of its steps, SDL Tridion Sites keeps a record of it in the form of a Workflow Process history. If many items are frequently subject to Workflow Processes, these histories can fill up your Content Manager database. To prevent this, purge the Workflow Process histories.
Before you begin
Procedure
From the PowerShell command prompt, enter the command
Remove-TcmProcessHistories, applying the following parameters:
Before-
An optional timestamp (
DateTime) indicating the cutoff point after which no Workflow Process histories should be purged. For example, set this parameter to 17 January 2013 to keep all Workflow Process histories created after that date. If you omit this parameter, the tool deletes all Workflow Process histories. PublicationId- An optional URI (the Content Manager URI of a Publication) limiting the Workflow Process histories to be purged to only the specified Publication. If you omit this parameter, the tool deletes Workflow Process histories from all Publications.
TimeOut- An optional number (number of minutes) that indicates how long the tool waits for a Core Service response before timing out. If you omit this parameter, the tool waits 10 minutes for a Core Service response before timing out. Depending on the number of histories to purge, you might need to increase this default.
SDL Tridion Sites purges the Workflow Process histories that meet the criteria you specified.
