Reclassifying content
The reclassify action allows you to replace a Keyword association from one or more items such as Pages and Components.
Before you begin
- To be able to use reclassify functionality, you must have Category Management rights and the relevant rights for the types of Content Manager items you want to reclassify and Write permissions for the organizational item
- The items to reclassify must be local copies or local items (you cannot reclassify items that are shared)
- The items to reclassify must be checked-in
About this task
You can perform reclassify in the Categories and Keywords Classified Items List View.
Procedure
Results
- If the Keyword field is a single-valued field:
- the action succeeds if there is exactly one valid Keyword in the available Keywords list
- the action fails if there is more than one valid Keyword in the available Keywords list
- the content is not classified if there are no valid Keywords in the available Keywords list
- If the Keyword field is a multi-valued field:
- the action succeeds if there is one or more valid Keywords in the list that it can use to classify the Keyword field against
- the content is not classified if there are no valid Keywords in the available Keywords list
- When the action succeeds:
- the previous Keyword or Keywords are removed from the Component field or Metadata field of the selected items
- the available Keyword or Keywords are added to the Component field or Metadata field of the selected items
- a new version of the item is created
- if the item is associated with a Workflow Process, the item goes into Workflow.
- When the action fails (one or more Keyword fields in an item could not classified against the available Keywords) an error message is displayed providing details.
What to do next
After you have classified content, you need to republish the items to synchronize the changes with Content Delivery.
