Reproducing database problems

Before you submit a persistent problems with an SDL Tridion Sites database to SDL Customer Support, follow a number of basic steps.

Procedure

  1. Reproduce and isolate the problem by eliminating factors such as multiple users and your own customizations.
  2. In the case of a performance problem, rule out all possible causes related to your own system configuration (such as hard disk performance or database statistics) by following the troubleshooting instructions for problematic queries as supplied by your database vendor. This involves creating a query plan for your problematic queries.
  3. If you use Oracle, including an AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) Report is essential.
