Setting Translation Manager rights

This section describes how to grant a user or user group rights to configure a Publication for translation or to initiate translations.

Before you begin

You must have system administration privileges or Publication Management rights to assign users or user groups rights.

About this task

The Translation Manager uses Content Manager security to set user rights. You assign the following rights to users or user groups to allow them to perform tasks relating to translation:

  • Translation Management rights allow users to send Folders and Components, Structure Groups and Pages, Categories and Keywords, Bundles, and Virtual Folders for translation.
  • Translation Configuration rights—allow users to configure Publications, Folders, Structure Groups, and Categories for translation.

Procedure

  1. Open the Content Manager Explorer.
  2. Select a Publication and choose Properties`in the context menu.
  3. In the Security tab, Select a Publication and choose Properties.
    • In the Users and Groups, select a user or User Group.
    • In the Rights, select one or both of the following:
      • Translation Management
      • Translation Configuration
  4. Click Save and Close.
    The changes you made are saved and the dialog closed.

Results

A User or User Group who has Translation Management rights can initiate translations.

A User or User Group who has Translation Configuration rights can configure a Publication, Folder, Structure Group or Category.
