Troubleshooting fixing a slow WebDAV connection

If you are experiencing a very slow connection to WebDAV Connector from Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2, configuring Internet Explorer to not automatically detect LAN settings may improve your performance.

Procedure

  1. On your WebDAV client machine, open Internet Explorer, select the gear icon at top right and select Internet Options from the menu.
  2. In the dialog that opens, select the Connections tab and click LAN Settings.
  3. In the dialog that opens, clear the option Automatically detect settings.
  4. Click OK several times to commit all changes and close all open dialogs, then close all instances of Internet Explorer.
  5. Access your list of Windows Services and restart the WebClient Windows service.
