Troubleshooting the Force Finish and Revert processes while item is in review or preview

There are potential impacts of using the Force Finishing and Reverting processes while items are in review or preview.

The Force Finish Process potential issues
Problem: If the Force Finish Process is done before the RETRIEVE activity has finished retrieving from the Translated Content Retrieval translation workflow step, the review version becomes the next major version in SDL Tridion Sites.
Solution: Verify the Target translation or roll back the Target item. The translation system is probably waiting for the SDL Tridion Sites workflow to transition the item to a new workflow step. The SDL Tridion Sites workflow is no longer running, so this transition must be made manually in the translation system. If the translation system is transitioned to Translated Content Retrieval, Translated Content Retrieval for Review or Translated Content Retrieval for Preview, Translation Manager retrieves the item and the workflow starts again.
The Revert Process potential issues
Problem: If Revert Process is done after the RETRIEVE activity has finished retrieving from the Translated Content Retrieval translation workflow step, the workflow in the translation system will complete. The translation is not stored in SDL Tridion Sites, it reverts to the previous translated version.
Solution: If a translation is required, the item must be sent for translation again.
