Viewing transaction details

The Publishing Queue screen shows a number of details about a publish transaction, such as its ID, the Target Type, the user who submitted the publish transaction, the time of publishing and the status.

Procedure

  1. Access the Content Manager Explorer website.
  2. Open the Ribbon toolbar Home tab and click Publishing Queue.
  3. In the Publishing Queue, you can perform a number of tasks in the toolbar:
    OptionAction
    Opens a content item such as a Component or Page, or go to its location
    Shows the Publish Transaction
    Redo this Publish Transaction
    Forces a scheduled publish transaction to publish immediately
    Shows an item in the BluePrint hierarchy
    Shows where a content item is being used
    Open the properties of an organizational item such as a Folder or Structure Group
    Deletes a transaction
  4. Select a transaction and in the Publishing Queue toolbar click Show Publish Transaction .
    The Publish Transaction window opens. The window displays Transaction Details, Publishing Process Details and Processsed Items.
  5. The Transaction Details shows the following information:
    Transaction detailDescription
    Transaction IDa unique identifier of the transaction
    Itemthe item submitted for publishing
    PublicationPublication in which the item resides
    Target Typethe Target Type toward which the publish transaction was directed
    Userthe name of the user who submitted this publish transaction
    Actionthe publish action (Publish or Unpublish)
    Prioritythe priority given to this publish action
    Date/Timethe moment at which the user submitted the publish request
    Statethe status of the publish transaction
  6. The Publishing Process Details tab displays publishing date and time information for each subprocess involved in the publishing procedure and is useful for locating where publishing failed. You can view error details by hovering over the appropriate cell and reading the tooltip that appears.
  7. The Processed Items tab is useful if the user configured the Content Manager to ignore render failures while publishing because it shows exactly which items that failed to render were ignored. The Processed Items tab shows the rendering status of the items in the transaction:
    • Select Show failed (and click Refresh) to display items in the list that failed to render. Items that failed to render also failed to publish. If you select an item with its State set to Failed, the text area at the bottom gives more details of why rendering failed.
    • Select Show successful (and click Refresh) to see items in the list that successfully rendered.
    • Use the Limit number of items to check box to manage the amount of items displayed.
