Adding the impersonation user to your Content Manager configuration

Impersonation user settings are used to identify the Windows accounts that are trusted to perform Content Manager impersonation and, in the case of LDAP impersonation users, to identify the relevant configuration of an LDAP server.

Procedure

  1. Start the SDL Web MMC Snap-in by selecting Programs > SDL Web > SDL Web Content Manager configuration in the Microsoft Windows Start menu.
  2. Right-click on the Impersonation User icon and select New Impersonation User.
  3. Under Windows User, you see the name of the impersonation user used by the Web site. This impersonation user is associated with the NETWORK SERVICE account, and can be configured in the SDL Web MMC Snap-in. Refer to Impersonation users for more details.
  4. Check if the impersonation is the value of the NetworkService account, that is, one of the following:
    • On French Windows: AUTORITE NT\SERVICE RÉSEAU
    • On German Windows: NT AUTORITÄT\NETZWERKDIENST
    • On Italian Windows: NT AUTHORITY\SERVIZIO DI RETE
    • On Spanish Windows: NT AUTHORITY\SERVICIO DE RED
    • On all other languages of Windows: NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE.
  5. Only if the impersonation user is not the value of the NetworkService account, select the Directory Service option. Otherwise, leave it set to Windows.
  6. Click OK.
  7. To automatically add users to the Content Manager user list, right-click on the Directory Service you created for LDAP and select Group Sync Enabled.
