Address Books
Address Books are used to organize and secure your Contacts so that only users with the necessary rights and access permissions can manage and send e-mails to certain Contacts.
You can create the following types of Address Books:
- A regular Address Book contains a list of Contacts segmented according to ownership. The owner is typically an organizational unit that manages communication with these Contacts.
- A Dynamic Address Book contains a list of Contacts segmented according to Contact interest, characteristic, or preference.
- A Local Address Book is a temporary Address Book which users can create and which contains a collection of Contacts imported from an external data source. A Local Address Book is intended for a one-time marketing action and are not designed to be used to manage Contacts.
The following image shows Address Books in the node including:
- The (All Contacts) is a node that contains a list of Contacts in all Address Books.
- The (Unassigned Contacts) is a node that contains Contacts orphaned as a result of an import action, a Contact synchronization action, or a delete Address Book action.
