Configuring the Slave Servers in Search Query Engine
On each Content Manager machine, configure the Search Query Engine to point to the or Network Load Balancer in the MMC Snap-in.
Procedure
- Access a machine on which you have Content Manager server installed.
- Start the MMC Snap-in by selecting Programs > SDL Web > SDL Web Content Manager configuration in the Microsoft Windows Start menu.
- Navigate to the Search settings > Query Engine Settings section.
- Configure the following settings:
- Query engine host URL

The URL of the . In an outscale scenario using a Master Server and Slave Server(s):
- If you have one Slave Server machine configured, specify the URL of that machine. For example, http://slaveserver:8983/tridion.
- If you have multiple Slave Server machines configured behind a Network Load Balancer, specify the URL of the Network Load Balancer. For example, http://loadbalancer:8983/tridion.
- Query engine password
- The password of the user specified in Query engine username.
- Query engine username
- A user that can connect to the , or a Network Load Balancer(s). By default, the Content Manager configures the MTS User to connect to the .
- Restart IIS and COM+ to ensure updated settings are used—for performance reasons, the processes that use the MMC Snap-in settings cache them in memory.
- Repeat the steps for every other machine on which Content Manager is installed.
