Procedure
Results
- Setting a Business Process Type
-
If you set Business Process Type to a specific value for a Publication that had it set to (None) previously, and if the Web site had previously been manually added to the slide-out navigation Sites screen, the existing Web site (along with any application data) will now be removed. On the Sites screen, it will be replaced with the new one, published through Topology Manager, including Purpose(s) and URL.
- Changing Publication URL or Images URL
-
If you modify the Publication URL or the Images URL, you should republish any published items.
- Changing Metadata
-
If you modify or add metadata values, other items (Component Templates, Page Templates, and Template Building Blocks) can reference metadata values via the .NET Tridion Object Model (TOM.NET).
- Changing Content Configuration
-
If you change the default Component Template, the change affects the action of previewing a Component using the default Component Template
If you change the default Page Template, the change has the following effect: Structure Groups may inherit the default Page Template value, and Pages may use the default Page Template. If a Structure Group inherits the default Page Template value, and a nested Page in the Structure Group uses the value "Default Page Template", the new default template will be used to render the Page.
If you change the default Template Building Block, it has no effect.
- Changing BluePrinting
-
If you add one or more Parent Publications to this Publication as part of a BluePrint, the Content Manager will share items according to the priority given to each Parent Publication.
- Changing Workflow
-
If you add a Workflow Association to the Publication for Component Templates and/or Page Templates, when the respective item is created or edited and saved, the item automatically enters the selected Workflow Process.
- Changing Publication Type or Publication Key
-
If you modify the Publication to no longer have the type SiteType, any created sites that have this Publication as their Site Type can no longer be used until you assign them a new Site Type in Topology Manager.
If you modify the Publication Key, you need to manually update any mappings in Topology Manager that use the old Publication Key value to now use the new Publication Key value.
