Event Triggers

You can configure the triggering of event code for the deprecated TOM-based Event System in the Event Triggers section of SDL Web Content Manager configuration. If you use the TOM.NET-based Event System, do not use this screen.

Procedure

  1. Start the MMC Snap-in by selecting Programs > SDL Web > SDL Web Content Manager configuration in the Microsoft Windows Start menu.
  2. Navigate to the Event Triggers section.
  3. Configure at which moment event code gets triggered. You can enable event triggers by settings the value for each trigger to one of the following:
    0 (default)
    No trigger
    1
Enable a trigger for this event

For information about creating custom events, refer to the Templating and Customization Manual TOM, for SDL Tridion 2009 or SDL Tridion 2009 SP1 which describes events and how create Custom Events. Only activate an event if you have deployed event handlers in the Event file, cm_ev.dll.

  4. Restart IIS and COM+ to ensure updated settings are used—for performance reasons, the processes that use the MMC Snap-in settings cache them in memory.
