Installing Experience Optimization overview

The installation procedure describes how to install, configure and get the various parts of the Experience Optimization system up and running, and how to connect these parts together. If you already have Experience Optimization installed, follow the upgrade procedure.

Pre-installation
Before installing Experience Optimization, you require an operational Content Manager and Content Delivery environment and a Presentation Server hosting a Web application where your Web content is published to.
It is recommended to read the product prerequisites before you install.
Installation
Installation involves you installing, configuring and connecting the various parts of the Experience Optimization system. The procedure assumes that you are running the various parts of the Experience Optimization system components on separate machines (in a development environment, you install these components on one machine):
  1. Install Experience Optimization on Fredhopper (deprecated)
  2. Install Experience Optimization on Content Manager
  3. Install Experience Optimization on Content Delivery
  4. Install Experience Optimization on Presentation Server
Upgrade
The upgrade procedure describes how to upgrade to the latest version of Experience Optimization and is intended for users who already have a previous version of Experience Optimization installed.
It is recommended to read the release notes before you upgrade.
