Reviewing translated content
You can include an optional Review step in your translation workflows so that translated content can be reviewed and edited by SDL Web users.
The Review process begins in the translation system. The translator translates the content and saves their changes.
The translator (or someone else working on the translation system) moves the job to the 'Translated Content Retrieval for Review' step. This is the first SDL Web retrieval step.
Once the translated content is retrieved from the translation system, the SDL Web workflow starts. The next step is the Review step, and the job status remains as 'In Translation'.
After the translated content has been reviewed, it can then be accepted or rejected and comments can be exchanged between SDL Web users and translators.
If it is rejected, the content is sent back to the translation system users (for example, translators or reviewers using SDL WorldServer), with comments. SDL Web users can make changes to the translated text before sending it back to the translation system users.
Pre-requisites for the Review functionality
- The Target Publication must have a Review Workflow. This is usually set up in the Target Schemas or Target Structure Groups, or shared from Source Schemas or Source Structure Groups. This workflow is shared in a Target Publication if the option Enable Workflow Process Associations in Shared Schemas and Structure Groups is selected in the Publication's Workflow tab.
- The Workflow in the translation system (for example, SDL WorldServer) must contain a Review step
- The following custom components must be created in the translation system (for example, SDL WorldServer):
- Translated Content Retrieval
- Translated Content Retrieval for Review
