Setting up Content Distribution in a legacy setup
Content Distribution in a legacy setup requires configuration on the Content Manager and on the Presentation Server. The following procedure provides an overview of the steps involved in setting up Content Distribution.
Procedure
- Set up Presentation Server—install Content Delivery software on a machine that you intend to use as a Presentation Server, including specific the in-process API Role:
- Set up Content Data Store—install a database where Content Delivery can store its content:
- Configure publishing—in the Content Manager, specify where you want to publish content to by defining Target Types and Publication Targets:
- Configure Transport Service—in the Content Manager, configure the Transport Service:
- Configure Deployment—on the Content Delivery Server, install and configure content deployment and storage and, if necessary, extend deployment behavior:
- Configure storage and caching—on the Presentation Server, configure the storage (if necessary) and caching of content in the Storage Layer:
- Test Content Distribution—test Content Distribution by publishing content from the Content Manager and verifying that it appears on a Web page on the Presentation Server.
