Types of Compound Templates

You can create Compound Page Templates, Compound Component Templates and Template Building Blocks using the Modular Templating Framework.

Compound Page Templates
Compound Page Templates transform a Page item in Content Manager into a publishable Web page. The Page Template typically specifies how to visualize page-level information such as the company logo and motto, a link to a legal disclaimer page, and a copyright notice. It also specifies which Components to include on the Web page.
Compound Component Templates
Compound Component Templates transform a Component item in Content Manager into an HTML fragment to be included on a publishable Web page. The Component Template typically specifies whether and how to visualize the various fields of a Component, such as its title and body text.
Compound Templates used as Template Building Blocks
Compound Templates used as Template Building Blocks are intended for often-used sequences of Template Building Blocks, such as a set of initialization tasks, that can then be included in a Compound Page Template and/or Compound Component Template.
