Uninstalling, repairing or modifying your Content Manager server
After installation or upgrade, use the installer that you originally used to install Content Manager to uninstall, repair or modify your installation.
Procedure
- Depending on your Windows version, do one of the following:
- On a Windows 2008 system, open the Windows Control Panel, select Programs, then select Programs and Features.
- On a Windows 2012 system, open the Windows Control Panel and select Programs and Features
A list of installed programs appears. - Select SDL Web in the list and select Change.
The installer opens, offering options to uninstall, repair or modify the installation.
- To remove Content Manager server, including any server-side components of client applications you may have installed, select Uninstall, confirm and follow the instructions you see.
The installer removes Content Manager from your system.
- Alternatively, to repair Content Manager server, for example because you lost a file, select Repair, confirm and follow the instructions you see.
Note: Performing a repair preserves your configuration settings for the product, but resets all custom settings applied to services, IIS and COM+.The installer attempts to repair your Content Manager installation.
- Alternatively, to remove or add software components, select Modify and do the following:
- To remove a software component, clear it.
- To add a software component, select it.
- To see a detailed list of software components, select Advanced View.
- To confirm your new selection, click Next and follow the instructions.
The installer adds and/or removes software components as indicated.
