Upgrading your Content Delivery databases

Upgrade your Content Delivery databases (Content Data Store and the Experience Manager database) in one of two ways: by running a PowerShell script or by manually running SQL scripts. You only need to run the SQL scripts directly if you have a pressing reason to do so, for example, if you want to install an Oracle database on a non-Windows system. You can skip this step altogether if you only use a file system for storage. If you are upgrading from SDL Tridion 2013 SP1, note also that as of SDL Web 8, Content Delivery requires an additional database called the Discovery Service database, and that for any upgrade, Content Delivery requires a further database called the State Store database. Refer to the installation documentation for more information.
