Copying Experiments

Copy to creates a duplicate of an Experiment and copies it to another Web site. Use Copy to to port Experiments from a preview Web site to a live Web site.

Before you begin

You cannot directly copy an Experiment that is Running or Finished: you must first create a duplicate (making sure the Start Date is well in the future) and then copy the duplicate to the live Web site.

Procedure

  1. In the slide out navigation pane, select Targeting.

    The Targeting Dashboard appears.

  2. In the Source drop-down menu:
    1. Select a Web site for which you want to manage Experiments. For example, you will typically have a "Staging" Web site and a "Live" Web site:
      • Staging is the internal Web site where Experience Manager is set up for inline editing and testing
      • Live is your external, public-facing Web site
    2. Click the Experiments tab to view the list of Experiments available for the Web site.
A list of Experiments for which you have Manage Experiments rights is displayed.
  3. Go to the Experiment you want to copy and open the actions menu in the right-hand corner:
  4. Click Copy to.

The Copy Experiment to another list appears.

  5. Select the Web site where you want to copy the Experiment to and click Copy from the drop-down menu.
  6. Confirm you want to copy the Experiment.

Results

The Experiment is copied to the selected Web site. If the Experiment already exists in the target Web site, the existing copy will be replaced.
