Duplicating Promotions

Duplicate a Promotion when you want to recreate a Promotion using a similar set of conditions in the same Web site.

About this task

When you duplicate a Promotion, you create an exact copy of the Promotion with the same settings. If the Promotion you want to duplicate has become invalid, the invalid settings are not copied over. You can modify any settings of the duplicated Promotion.

Procedure

  1. In the slide out navigation pane, select Targeting.

    The Targeting Dashboard appears.

  2. In the Source drop-down menu:
    1. Select a Web site for which you want to manage Promotions. For example, you will typically have a "Staging" Web site and a "Live" Web site:
      • Staging is the internal Web site where Experience Manager is set up for inline editing and testing
      • Live is your external, public-facing Web site
    2. Click the Promotions tab to view the list of Promotions available for the Web site.
A list of Promotions for which you have Manage Promotions rights is displayed.
  3. Go to the Promotion you want to duplicate and click Duplicate in the actions menu in the right-hand corner:

The Promotion is duplicated and the new Promotion is opened.

  4. Rename the Promotion (duplicates are assigned a temporary Title Copy of...Name).
  5. Optional: Deselect Enable this Promotion if you do not want the Promotion to be available immediately.
  6. If necessary, edit the Where, When, and What conditions:
    • Where: Publications, Page, and Page Regions
    • When: Triggers
    • What: Content Items
  7. Click Save when you have finished editing.

The Promotion is saved and the dialog closes.
