Setting up your spell index

The spell index determines which search fields are used to create your spelling correction index.

About this task

Only a subset of the search index fields are typically included in the spell correct. Based on the spell index, Fredhopper determines spell corrections.

Procedure

  1. Open the Business Manager.
  2. Go to the System Manager > Search > Spell index page.
  3. The Spell index profile page displays the following information:
    Search fields
    • Field—name of the search field.
    • Spell index—green and red dots indicating if the field is searched in the profile.
    Token filters
    • Token type—there are three options: Numeric, Alphabetic, Alphanumeric. They delete, add or transform Tokens.
    • Minimum token length—choose from 1,2,3,4....................... 20.
    • Maximum token length—choose from 4, 5, 6.................... 1000, U.
  4. Select the fields used for the spell index by clicking the red dot so that it turns green (green indicates an active field, red a deactivated field).
  5. Click Apply to save changes.
