Abandoning Quotes in TransPort

Use Abandon Quotes to remove a quote from active consideration for a translation project. Since this removal may be temporary, an abandoned quote can be brought back to a Requested status at a later date.

The following example is a typical scenario:
  • A client requests a quote to translate a specific set of content into a set of languages by a specific date.
  • The Client Manager provides a quote for the project.
  • The client reviews the quote and determines that there is not enough money in the budget to move forward on the project at this time.
  • The client abandons the quote to indicate that they are not going to move forward on the project.
  • Several months later, they get a budget approved and want to move forward on the project.
  • Since the original quote is not current, the client wants to request a new quote for the project. To do this, Client Managers (or TransPort users with the appropriate permissions) can change the status from Abandoned to Requested on the quote, which restarts the quote cycle.
