About Analyzing Files

Depending on your permissions and selected Project Type, you can perform a preliminary analysis of the files associated with a project or quote. (TransPort calculates the approximate costs based on cost models defined in the Project Type.) This analysis may include:
  • The names of each source file associated with the project or quote.
  • The number of words in each source file.
  • The estimated cost to translate the source file into each specified locale.
  • The total cost to translate each source file into all specified locales.
  • The cost associated with any additional charges and discounts associated with the applied cost model.
  • The total cost, including charges and discounts, to translate all files to each locale.

When you click Analyze Files, TransPort launches the File Analysis dialog box, which generates a nonbinding estimate of the approximate translation costs based on size and word count. The actual costs are calculated by the translation provider and included in a quote document. When finished viewing the details, click OK.
