Archive Reporting Schema Terms and Concepts

To build reports on activity in WorldServer, it is important to understand the concepts that are represented in the database:
  • Project Group. A group of assets in one locale that are being fed through workflows for processing for a group of target locales. For example, if you create a project in the WorldServer UI to translate an entire Web site from English into Spanish, French, and German, the database will contain a single Project Group to represent all this activity.
  • Project. A group of assets that are being fed through a workflow for processing with a single target locale. The example Project Group above would contain three Projects, one each for Spanish, French, and German.
  • Task. A single asset being fed through a workflow. Each of the example Projects above would contain a Task for each document to be translated.
  • Task Step. A single asset being processed in a single workflow step. Each example Task above might contain Task Steps for Translate, Review, and so on.
  • Cost Model. A collection of prices to be paid for translation, based on the quality of translation memory match available. Each Project is optionally associated with a Cost Model indicating the costs that need to be paid for that Project.
