Associating TransPort Users with a Client

About this task

A client manager can associate one or more TransPort users with a Client. TransPort users comprise two user types: Client Managers and Client Users. The following example is a typical scenario:

  • The ABC Company wants their group to use TransPort for translation services.
  • Paul Monroe is the Client Manager who manages the localization services for the ABC Company. Keep in mind that Client Managers can track and manage all TransPort projects and quotes generated by their Clients through WorldServer. Therefore, Client Managers require WorldServer permissions.
  • Paul, a client manager with WorldServer permissions, can create Client users and associate them with the TransPort User Type.

Procedure

  1. In the Users & Contacts page, select and move one or more administrators and client managers from the Available Users to the Client Managers (WorldServer and TransPort access) section. In the following example, Paul Monroe is the Client Manager for the ABC Company and is moved to the Client Managers section as shown.
  2. Select and move one or more available users to the Client Users section. In this example, Matt Palmer, a manager of the translation services department at the ABC Company, will be using TransPort. Matt is moved to the Client Users (TransPort access only) section as shown.
  3. Click Save.

Results

When Matt Palmer logs into TransPort, Paul Monroe's contact information displays in the My Contacts section of his TransPort Home page.

In addition, you can customize client managers' contact information that displays in the My Contacts section. See Customizing client contact data.
