Auto Translation in Studio-Aligned Mode

By default, the auto translation settings in WorldServer's Studio-aligned TM mode match the defaults in SDL Trados Studio. Modify any of these with care.

New users in WorldServer 2011, or anyone who chooses the Studio-aligned TM mode, will have the following defaults, that are equivalent to SDL Studio settings:

  • The recognizers are turned on.
  • Auto substitution is turned on.

Machine Translation Details

For consistency between WorldServer scoping and Studio scoping reports in projects using machine translation (MT) services, the MT fuzzy score will need to be configured to be 50% (the same as Studio scoping configuration LowestScopingRange.Max) or the active scoping configuration’s LowestScopingRange.Max value. This ensures that lower-scoring WorldServer TM matches do not get lost in WorldServer scoping reports (hidden by MT matches).

For MT integration, use the automatic action Apply Machine Translation in workflows before you create Studio product packages. This pre-translates an asset using only MT, if there is not a TM match that has a score greater than the user specified minimum score for MT pre-translation. By default, this already has the desired minimum match threshold of 50% (which is also configurable).
