Configuring Enhanced Authentication

About this task

Management > Administration > Authentication: Enhanced

By using enhanced authentication, you can do the following:
  • Make users change their password on first login.
  • Disable the user after a number of consecutive unsuccessful login attempts. The default value is 5.
  • Set a password expiry interval. The default value is 90 days.
  • Warn users beforehand that their password is about to expire. The default value is 7 days.
  • Allow password reuse after a certain number of days. The default value is 365 days.

Procedure

  1. Choose Enhanced from the Authentication Type list.
  2. Specify whether users must change their password when logging in to WorldServer for the first time.
For user accounts created before enhanced authentication was enabled, users always have to change their password the first time they log in after enhanced authentication is enabled.
  3. In the Disable user after consecutive unsuccessful login attempts box, indicate the number of unsuccessful login attempts that users have before they are disabled.
  4. In the Password expires after (days) box, indicate the validity period of a password, in days.
  5. In the Before password expiration, warn user at login (days) box, indicate how many days in advance should users be warned that their password will expire.
  6. In the Allow password reuse after (days) box, indicate how much time must pass, in days, before a password can be reused.
  7. Click Save.
