Exporting Term Statuses

WorldServer exports the term administrative status when exporting terms, mapping the statuses to the standard TBX ISO 12620 data category administrativeStatus. Any term attribute with an internal name of administrativeStatus is ignored during export, since WorldServer exports an administrativeStatus attribute according to the term's status.

The term administrative status maps to administrativeStatus attribute values as follows:
  • Proposed: no value. Not exported by default.
  • Approved: admittedTerm-admn-sts.
  • Preferred: preferredTerm-admn-sts
  • Standardized: standardizedTerm-admn-sts
  • Legal: legalTerm-admn-sts
  • Regulated: regulatedTerm-admn-sts
  • Rejected: no value. Not exported by default.
  • Deprecated: deprecatedTerm-admn-sts.
  • Superseded: supersededTerm-admn-sts
Because there is no suitable ISO 12620 data category to express the processing status, WorldServer exports a new attribute processingStatus (not to be mistaken for ISO 12620's processStatus) that maps as follows:
  • Proposed: proposed
  • Rejected: rejected
  • Active/Inactive: processed. The actual Active/Inactive status is determined by the administrativeStatus attribute, or Approved by default.

By default, only Active and Inactive terms are exported. However, you can select which terms to export using the Export Entries from Term Database<TD> page (accessed from the Export TD button).

Exporting a translation kit is a special case of exporting a term database. Rather than the entire term database, only term entries with matching source terms are exported in a translation kit. WorldServer handles term statuses in translation kits as follows:
  • Where a source term (active or inactive) matches text in a source segment, all active or inactive terms in the source and target languages for that entry are exported. Exporting all such terms ensures that all pertinent information is available to the translator.
  • The Browser Workbench makes the status of the terms clear, so a translator will not mistakenly translate a term using inactive terminology.
  • Only attributes flagged with Include in Translation Kit are exported.
