Putting It Into Practice Working With Multiple Roles

In the Translation and Review workflow, the human steps are assigned to different workflow roles:
  • The Translate step is assigned to the Translator role.
  • The Review step is assigned to the Reviewer workflow role.
These assignments allow you to segment users into the types of work that they perform. The following table illustrates an example user database in WorldServer:
UserWorkflow RolesLocalesWorkgroups
ThereseTranslatorFrenchdefault
TakuroTranslatorJapanesedefault
TomasTranslatorSpanishdefault
TheoReviewerSpanishdefault
When a task enters the Translate step for the Spanish project, the step is assigned to Tomas. After Tomas completes the step, the task moves to the Review step, and is assigned to Theo.

In this case, the workflow role is used to direct different types of work to different users. WorldServer allows you to create as many workflow roles as you need.
